What is CAAQMS?

Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Systems (CAAQMS) measure air pollutant concentrations in the open ambient environment — as opposed to stack emission monitoring which measures inside flue gas ducts. CPCB operates a national network of CAAQMS stations, and many industries are required to install fence-line CAAQMS stations to continuously monitor the air quality at their plant boundaries and transmit data to CPCB/SPCB portals.
